It could be a mistake with your checks, but after what I went through..it's not worth taking the risk. Please visit the federal trade commission site and request free brochures, you can also file a report with the ftc, and definitely call a credit bureau put and put alerts on your credit reports (you only need to call one, they will get to the other two reporting agencies). federal law also states you can file a report with your local law enforcement agency RATHER YOU HAVE PROOF OR NOT. Just to be safe..cover your basics and monitor your credit reports, as you will get a free report from all three agencies when you request the alert. It can takes years - not just of financial loss, but emotional stress to the family. A person's credit is just part of what these sob's do, as they can discredit your good name online and in your community; and you will always have to watch your identity the remainder of your life, even with protection. Your identity is worth 4 bucks. I think these thieves should be thrown to the wolves if you ask me, as me and my child's identity was stolen online and trust me...it changes your life, every aspect of it.
