I lost 2 social security checks- am I in danger of identity theft? How should I help myself?

I misplaced two of my social security checks and can't find them. I will report them stolen/lost and request for a new one. Am I in danger of ID theft? how can I help myself with ID theft just in case? thanks!

I accidently threw away 2 voided checks what do i do to stop identity theft?

I thew them away at a gas station and someone found them and sent them to my address with a letter explaining not to throw them away. How can i make sure i dont get my identity stolen?
