I have been a victim of identity theft & need a new social security number. How can I solicit one?

My phone plan was tampered with, my mail was forwarded to a residence that is not mine, and I’m afraid it will get worse from here. I told the police what happened and I told Victims Services also. But no one will give me leads as to how to proceed with changing my social security number. Does anyone out there have any advice for me?

I have been a victim of identity theft for the second time with the same person. How do i press charges?

This person has done this for the second time. I filed a coomplaint the first time. Since this is the second time, i am pressing charges, but i am unsure of the steps. I know to file a report, call all the companies. But the actualy pressing of the charges is where i am confused. Can anyone help?

My wife and I account with Prosperity Bank was debited a $600 transaction that we did not make. The bank refunded us our money, but never didn't catch the thef. What is the out come of banks finding these people?

How can I prepare myself for possible identity theft?

Someone stole a newly delivered credit card from my mailbox and luckily I was able to block it. Today, I received mail informing me that a new Bank of America account had been opened with my SSN. I closed it. Now that someone out there does have my SSN what steps can I take. I already signed up for Credit Protection Services. Any help would be appreciated since I am not from this country.

How do you run a background check? I may have an identity theft situation..?

While applying for a job, I was told my background check showed that I am a convicted felon in Minnesota..I've never BEEN to Minnesota! This really threatens me in the job market..how do I run my own background check, to see if this should be reported as identity theft? Any knowledgeable answers very much appreciated!
