I watched 60 minutes sunday and they said HACKERS ARE STEALING 100S OF MILLIONS A DAY BY STEALING ON LINE. I think hackers and people who steal identities should be given the immediate death penalty.

My girlfriend had some funny charges appear on her bank statement, one was $100 yesterday and today she had one that was $263. It looked like it was a charge for using google adwords or something involving it, which she has never used. Is this probably a sign that someone has stolen her identity? Or is it a Google issue? Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Someone apparently got my SS# and claimed me on their taxes in 2008 and since they did that I was not eligible to receive the Stimulus check that most people got. Is it possible to get my stimulus check back this year, seeing how it was basically like identity theft?? And if it is possible, how…What would I need to do to get that back this year?

I remember watching a movie a while ago that I think I liked, but can't really remember the name of it.
It starts with a young man who befriended a stranger, but for some reason decided to kill this new friend and steal his identity. For the next few years, he kept changing his identity by observing and then murdering people, and then taking over their lives. He becomes very good at this and the police were having a hard time tracking him down.
Does anyone remember which movie this is? Thanks!

I'm trying to rent a house and on the application it asks me for my name, social security, current address, employer etc..
Here's the scary part, it asks me for my checking account number and routing number. And the bank accounts I have. Is this a scam? or is it normal for rental applications?
I figured this could be a huge identity theft scam were they put up a house for rent, then make this type of application to get bank information on careless applicants or first time renters who dont know anything about a standard housing application.

I am trying to get examples of how identity theft can be halted or weakened by the use of some type of computer system or software.

Every season a new and different magazine subscription comes to our house marked for Jennifer Mahar…but we don't know who that is. It's like she is attempting to create the illusion that she lives here.
We've gone to local authorities who don't understand why someone would complain about free magazines. (not too bright, just lazy or both)
Could this be the beginning of identity theft, some kind of fraud?

I have so much identity theft from a corrupt mortgage broker (most likely). I paid on two cards for at least six months, which was so stupid. In december, enough was enough and I stopped paying. I have finally started to take action. My attorney says that these can still be proven, but I see little hope. Anybody out there that works in this field? Freemason here.
